The Consensus Commission is holding its first meeting with the parties today.

The first meeting of the National Consensus Commission with political parties will take place today, Saturday. The meeting will be chaired by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, who also serves as the commission's chairman.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital, as confirmed by sources from the chief adviser's press wing.
A delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, will attend the meeting, with confirmation from BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan. Representatives from other political parties are also expected to participate.
On Thursday, the interim government established the seven-member 'National Consensus Commission,' headed by Professor Muhammad Yunus, to discuss the recommendations presented by six reform commissions aimed at building a consensus on political, constitutional, and electoral reforms.
The other members of the commission include Professor Ali Riaz, head of the constitution reform commission; Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, head of the public administration reform commission; Safar Raj Hossain, head of the police reform commission; Badiul Alam Majumder, head of the election reform commission; Justice Emdadul Haque, head of the judiciary reform commission; and Iftekharuzzaman, head of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) reform commission.
The National Consensus Commission has six months to achieve a consensus among political parties. The Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) is providing secretarial services to the commission.
