India's President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have extended their heartfelt felicitations on the occasion of Bangladesh's National Day, reaffirming India's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties for peace, stability, and prosperity.
In his message to Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Modi emphasized India's dedication to deepening the partnership, rooted in shared aspirations and mutual sensitivity to each other's interests. He conveyed his greetings to Dr. Yunus and the people of Bangladesh, highlighting the significance of this day as a testament to their shared history and sacrifices, which have cemented the foundation of India-Bangladesh relations.
Modi further stated that the spirit of Bangladesh’s Liberation War continues to inspire the flourishing relationship between the two nations, fostering cooperation across various sectors for the benefit of both peoples.
President Murmu, in her message to Bangladesh's President Mohammed Shahabuddin, extended warm wishes on behalf of the Indian government and its people. She underscored the multifaceted nature of India-Bangladesh relations, spanning trade, connectivity, development partnerships, energy, education, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people ties.
She reaffirmed Bangladesh's significance in India's "Neighborhood First" and "Act East" policies, as well as its Indo-Pacific Vision and SAGAR doctrine. India, she assured, remains steadfast in its support for a democratic, stable, inclusive, peaceful, and progressive Bangladesh.
