Consensus Commission, political parties restart reform dialogue in Bangladesh
Around 30 political parties are participating in the talks to present their individual stances on the proposed reforms.

The 12th day of the second round of reform talks between the National Consensus Commission and political parties commenced on Sunday morning, focusing on key constitutional matters.
Chaired by Commission Vice Chair Professor Ali Riaz, the session began at 11am at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.
Sunday’s discussions are set to cover several significant topics, including provisions for declaring a state of emergency and the process for appointing the Chief Justice.
Around 30 political parties are participating in the dialogue to present their respective positions on the proposed reforms.
Following these discussions, the National Consensus Commission is expected to finalise and unveil the National Charter—a comprehensive roadmap for reform.
The second round of talks was formally launched on June 2 by Chief Adviser and Commission Chairman Professor Muhammad Yunus.
The Commission, formed on February 15, 2025, under Professor Yunus’s leadership, was mandated to build national consensus on essential state reforms.
It began its first round of dialogue on March 20, engaging with 33 political parties and alliances, which concluded on May 19.
