Bangladesh rise 24 spots in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings.

The Bangladesh women’s football team has made a landmark breakthrough in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking, soaring 24 places to 104th — the highest jump by any nation this month.
This surge, powered by a remarkable +80.51 points, marks the team’s most significant rise in global ranking history.
The dramatic leap follows Bangladesh’s outstanding campaign in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers — part of the Asian pathway to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 in Brazil — where they stunned Myanmar, Bahrain, and Turkmenistan to reach the final qualifying round.
This achievement reflects the growing momentum of women’s football in Bangladesh, driven by increased investment, strengthened grassroots development, and improved international performances.
Elsewhere, Spain reclaimed the top spot in the global rankings after reaching the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 final with five consecutive wins, overtaking the United States, who dropped to second despite three friendly victories.
France made notable progress among the elite, climbing four spots to sixth after a strong Euro campaign.
But the spotlight is firmly on Bangladesh — the edition’s biggest movers — whose rise signals a transformative moment for women’s football in the country.
