AI-Based Automatic Traffic Fines to Launch on Dhaka–Chattogram Highway Tuesday

The Highway Police will launch an AI-powered camera-based automatic traffic fine system on the Dhaka–Chattogram Highway on Tuesday, according to a press release issued Saturday.

The system will detect and impose fines for traffic violations including speeding, illegal parking and driving against traffic. Vehicle owners will receive automated SMS notifications on their registered mobile numbers when violations are recorded.

After receiving the case details, owners will be able to pay the fines through mobile financial services.

According to the Highway Police, the AI-based system will accelerate the detection of traffic violations and fine collection while making the penalty process more transparent, accurate, efficient and timely.
