Bangladesh Unaware of Sheikh Hasina’s Status in India: Chief Prosecutor

ICT Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam says Bangladesh has no confirmed information on Sheikh Hasina’s exact status in India. He said Dhaka has already formally sought her extradition and taken necessary legal steps to bring her back.

Reacting to an Indian media report suggesting court approval may be needed for her return, Aminul Islam said the report did not clarify whether Hasina is in India under political asylum or her precise legal status. He said it would therefore be inappropriate to comment based on the report.
