PM Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Kishoreganj on Sunday.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Kishoreganj on Sunday (August 16) for a daylong tour, marking his first visit to the district since taking office. He will inaugurate National Fisheries Week-2026 and attend several other programmes.
According to Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman, Tarique Rahman will leave Dhaka by road in the morning.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate National Fisheries Week at the George Institution Mini Stadium in Achmita Union, Katiadi, and distribute the National Fisheries Awards.
The theme of this year’s Fisheries Week is “A self-reliant country through silver fish, Bangladesh first.”
His itinerary also includes a fish fry release and exchange of greetings at Pakundia, a visit to the Katiadi Card Hatchery Complex, a tree plantation programme at the historic Sholakia Eidgah, and a Family Card distribution ceremony at the Old Kishoreganj Stadium.
He will also provide honorariums to imams, muezzins, priests, monks, purohits and representatives of different faiths.
After completing his daylong engagements, the Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Dhaka by road.
