One Lakh Troops, 1.5 Lakh Police To Be Deployed During Election: EC Secretary
He says the country has a conducive environment for holding the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.

Senior Election Commission Secretary Akhtar Ahmed has stated that the country is well-prepared to hold the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
He announced that between 90,000 and 100,000 members of the armed forces will be deployed to ensure security during the election, alongside 150,000 police personnel. Additionally, around 550,000 Ansar members will be on duty nationwide on polling day.
The EC secretary shared the details on Monday (October 20) afternoon following a meeting at the Election Commission office in Agargaon, Dhaka, with representatives from various law enforcement agencies. The meeting focused on ensuring a free, fair, and participatory election.
On the issue of looted weapons, Akhtar Ahmed said that 85% of the stolen arms have been recovered, with efforts ongoing to retrieve the remaining ones.
He also noted that recent major fire incidents across the country were not discussed during the meeting.
