Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has urged OIC member states to raise a united voice on the global stage against Islamophobia.

He made the call while addressing the opening ceremony of the OIC Youth Capital International Programme, jointly organised by the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) and Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication in Marrakesh, according to a press release.

Asif Mahmud, who also serves as Adviser to the Ministry of LGRD, reaffirmed Bangladesh’s firm stance in support of establishing an independent Palestinian state.

During his visit to Morocco, the Adviser held several bilateral meetings, including one with ICYF President Taha Ayhan at 11 am local time. Highlighting the bravery of Bangladeshi youth during the July uprising, he said the government is committed to advancing youth development in the post-July period.

He added that efforts are underway, both domestically and internationally, to expand quality training and employment opportunities for young people.

Asif Mahmud invited youth from OIC member countries, through ICYF, to take part in the Global Youth Summit scheduled for September in Bangladesh.

Praising Bangladesh's youth development programmes under Asif Mahmud’s leadership, ICYF President Taha Ayhan noted that ICYF counts many friends and partners in the country. He also invited the Adviser to visit the ICYF headquarters in Istanbul.

Following his engagements in Morocco, the Adviser is expected to travel to Istanbul, Turkey to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Ethnosport Union and attend several key bilateral meetings.
