Grit, ambition, and skill shone brightly for the Tigers as they achieved one of their most memorable victories in Test cricket, securing their first Test win in the West Indies in 15 years. Taijul Islam was the standout performer, claiming his 15th Test five-wicket haul, while Nahid Rana sealed the deal by dismissing the final West Indies batter, bowling them out for 185. This emphatic 101-run victory in Jamaica marked a dream performance for Bangladesh, leveling the series 1-1 and securing their third away Test win this year, following their success in Rawalpindi.

The Tigers demonstrated resilience and determination throughout the match. Nahid Rana's fiery spells in the first innings restricted the West Indies to just 146, while gritty knocks from Shadman Islam and Mehedi Miraz on day three set the stage for success. An aggressive batting display in the second innings, highlighted by Jaker Ali's remarkable 91-run effort, allowed Bangladesh to strengthen their position.

On day four, Bangladesh added a crucial 75 runs to their overnight score of 193 for 5, setting a challenging target of 287 for the West Indies. Taijul's second-innings heroics began with three key wickets, including the dismissal of West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite. He then removed a well-set Kavem Hodge, who was trapped leg-before after a fighting 55, breaking a stubborn 37-run partnership.

Despite Nahid Rana's near-misses, Taskin Ahmed chipped in with a crucial wicket, dismissing Justin Greaves with a delivery that stayed low. Taijul’s mastery continued as he trapped Joshua Da Silva in front of the stumps for his fifth wicket, finishing with outstanding figures of 5 for 50.

Hasan Mahmud provided the finishing touches, bowling Alzarri Joseph and trapping Kemar Roach to leave Bangladesh on the brink of victory. Taijul’s brilliance earned him the Player-of-the-Match award, while Taskin Ahmed, who took six wickets in the first Test, shared the Player-of-the-Series honors with Jayden Seales, who claimed 10 wickets in the series.

This victory not only ended a long wait for success in the Caribbean but also highlighted Bangladesh’s growing potential in Test cricket, showcasing their ability to compete at the highest level.
