Dhaka stocks decline for the third straight day

Stocks continued their downward trend for the third consecutive day since the start of today's trading. As of 12:44 pm, the DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, dropped by 6.04 points or 0.11 percent to settle at 5,167.5.
Among the traded issues, 139 advanced, 151 declined, and 96 remained unchanged. The total turnover amounted to Tk 116.46 crore. Fareast Finance & Investment led the gainers with a rise of over 9 percent, while Mercantile Islami Insurance saw its shares plummet by 10 percent.
Meanwhile, the CSE All Share Price Index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange decreased by 0.07 percent, shedding 10.29 points to stand at 14,478.94 as of 11:30 am.
