Trump Escalates Rhetoric Against Iran's Supreme Leader, Demands 'Unconditional Surrender'
President Donald Trump sharply escalated his rhetoric against Iran’s supreme leader on Tuesday, declaring on social media that the United States knows Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s exact location but has chosen not to eliminate him — “for now.”
In a separate post, Trump appeared to demand Iran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”, further fueling speculation over potential U.S. involvement in Israel’s ongoing strikes against Tehran’s leadership and nuclear infrastructure.
“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He’s an easy target, but safe for now — we’re not going to take him out (kill!) at least not for now,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
He added: “But we don’t want missiles fired at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Shortly after, Trump followed up with a blunt post: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
Trump had returned early Monday night from the G7 summit in Canada as the conflict between Iran and close U.S. ally Israel intensified. He was scheduled to meet with senior advisers in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday.
So far, the U.S. president has emphasized that Washington remains uninvolved directly in the hostilities, insisting that Iran still has an opportunity to accept a deal to halt its nuclear program — an offer that predates Israel’s strikes.
However, Trump’s recent statements suggest that U.S. intervention may be drawing closer.
On Tuesday, he declared that the U.S. holds “complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” touting American-made military equipment — though without directly mentioning Israel. Israel had made a similar assertion earlier.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on his return from Canada, Trump emphasized his desire for a permanent resolution to the crisis, stating, “I want a real end, not a ceasefire,” and adding, “I’m not in too much of a mood to negotiate.”
