Indian Cricket Team is likely to Boycott Bangladesh Travel for August White-Ball Series: Report
India to Play Bangladesh in Three ODIs and Three T20Is from August 17-31 at Two Venues

The Indian men's cricket team was scheduled to tour Bangladesh in August 2025 for a white-ball series featuring three ODIs and three T20Is. The series was set to be hosted at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka (four matches) and Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram (two matches), according to the itinerary shared by the BCCI last month.
A source tracking developments mentioned, “The tour is part of the calendar, but nothing is final yet. There is a strong possibility that India might not travel to Bangladesh for the series because of the current situation.” The tensions escalated after a retired Bangladesh army officer, Maj Gen (retired) ALM Fazlur Rahman, sparked controversy with a statement on social media advocating for the occupation of India’s northeastern states and suggesting a joint military system with China. His remarks, which included calls for Bangladesh to occupy seven northeastern Indian states if India attacks Pakistan, have raised concerns.
The potential cancellation of the Bangladesh tour has raised questions about the future of the 2025 Asia Cup, scheduled to be hosted by India in September. With ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, cricketing relations between the neighbors appear uncertain, and there is speculation that the Asia Cup could be postponed. The report indicated that the Indian government is taking a tough stance, making cricketing ties with the neighboring countries less likely in the near future.
