A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Bangladesh–India border near Satkhira.
A 4.1-magnitude earthquake jolted the Bangladesh–West Bengal border early Tuesday, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (ESMC) reported.
The tremor struck at 4:36am, with its epicentre about 16 kilometres northwest of Satkhira in Bangladesh and 36 kilometres east of Habra in India, near a complex convergence zone of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
No immediate reports of casualties or damage to structures were received.
In recent months, mild to moderate earthquakes have been felt in various parts of the country, prompting concern among geological experts.
