Bangladesh set a target of 126 for India in a rain-hit encounter at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, driven by a late surge from Sobhana Mostary and Sharmin Akter.

The match, shortened to 27 overs per side due to rain interruptions, began with a cautious start from Bangladesh. Opener Sumaiya Akter was dismissed early for 2 off 6 balls, while Rubya Haider contributed 13 off 32 deliveries. Once play resumed after the rain break, the Tigers picked up the tempo. Captain Nigar Sultana scored 9 off 24, Sobhana Mostary chipped in with a brisk 26 off 21, and Sharmin Akter anchored the innings with a steady 36 off 53, helping Bangladesh reach 119 for 9 in their allotted overs.

Using the Duckworth-Lewis method, India were given a revised target of 126 runs. The middle-order partnership between Sobhana and Sharmin proved vital in posting a competitive total despite the weather disruptions.

Bangladesh, already out of semifinal contention after five consecutive defeats following their opening win against Pakistan, will look to end their campaign on a positive note. India, having already sealed a spot in the semifinals, will aim to sustain their momentum heading into the knockout stage.

In team changes, India handed a debut to wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry, resting Kranti Gaud, Sneh Rana, and Richa Ghosh, while Radha Yadav and Amanjot Kaur returned to the XI. Bangladesh made one change, bringing in Sumaiya Akter in place of Fargana Hoque.
