Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Nazrul has said Bangladesh will not accept any unreasonable terms imposed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) under pressure from India.

For several days, controversy has surrounded Bangladesh’s participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup, with the country maintaining a firm stance against travelling to India to play the tournament.

Speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Asif Nazrul said, “If the ICC gives in to pressure from the Indian Cricket Board and attempts to force us by setting unreasonable conditions, we will not accept them.”

Uncertainty remains over whether Bangladesh will ultimately take part in the T20 World Cup. A final decision is expected on Wednesday (21 January), a timeline that ICC representatives communicated to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) during a meeting last Saturday.

He also said he has no information indicating that Scotland would replace Bangladesh in the tournament if Bangladesh opts out.
