SC to Restart Regular Judicial Proceedings from April 20

The Supreme Court (SC), the highest court in the country, is set to resume regular judicial proceedings on April 20, following a month-long vacation that included the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
Despite the recess, several benches of the High Court Division continued to operate, handling urgent matters. Additionally, the Chamber Court of the Appellate Division remained active, hearing and issuing orders on emergency cases.
Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed has constituted 48 benches in the High Court Division with defined jurisdictions. Starting Sunday, April 20, these benches—comprising 30 double benches and 18 single benches—will begin conducting hearings from 10:30am.
On the same day, newly elevated Justices A.K.M. Asaduzzaman and Farah Mahbub will be formally felicitated by the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Attorney General’s Office at the Chief Justice’s courtroom, according to court sources.
The President appointed both judges to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on March 24, with Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed administering their oaths the following day.
