Mirza Fakhrul Visits Sylhet for First Time as President
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir arrived in Sylhet on Tuesday morning for his first official visit to the region since taking office.
He landed at Osmani International Airport at around 11:27am, where MPs from Sylhet constituencies, officials from the district administration and leaders of different political parties welcomed him.
During his one-day visit, the President is scheduled to offer prayers at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) and Hazrat Shahparan (R) and attend a civic reception hosted by the Sylhet City Corporation.
Security has been strengthened across the city ahead of the visit, with additional law enforcement personnel deployed at event venues, along his travel routes and at key locations.
According to the official itinerary, the President will leave Osmani International Airport for Sylhet Circuit House at 11:50am, where he will be accorded a guard of honour.
He is scheduled to visit the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) at 12:30pm, followed by a visit to the shrine of Hazrat Shahparan (R) at 1:25pm.
After lunch, President Mirza Fakhrul will attend a civic reception organised by the Sylhet City Corporation in front of Nagar Bhaban at 3:30pm.
He is scheduled to depart Osmani International Airport for Dhaka at 8:00pm, concluding his one-day visit.
