Death Toll from US Airstrikes on Yemeni Fuel Port Rises to 38, Say Houthis

The death toll from the overnight U.S. airstrikes on Yemen’s Ras Isa fuel port has increased to 38, with an additional 102 individuals reported injured, as per the latest update from Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. The figures were provided by local health authorities under Houthi control.
According to the report, five paramedics were among the deceased. These medical personnel lost their lives during a second wave of airstrikes launched by the U.S. military just minutes after the initial bombing. The strikes occurred on Thursday night and specifically targeted the strategic Ras Isa facility located along Yemen’s western coast.
The report further stated that the airstrikes involved more than 14 separate attacks across two waves. These bombings led to large-scale fires in storage tanks containing imported fuel. Emergency crews managed to bring the fires under control within a few hours.
In a statement issued earlier, the United States Central Command confirmed that its forces had struck and destroyed Ras Isa port infrastructure. The operation was aimed at eliminating a major source of fuel used by the Houthis and at degrading their economic capabilities.
This military action followed a directive issued in mid-March by U.S. President Donald Trump, authorizing decisive operations against the Houthis. The decision came in response to Houthi threats to resume attacks on Israeli vessels navigating the Red Sea. The Houthis cited Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza as the rationale behind their planned maritime actions.
