MATS students announce long march to Shahbagh on Sunday
The students put forward four key demands.

Students of the Medical Assistant Training School (MATS) have announced a long march to Dhaka's Shahbagh on Sunday to press for their four-point demands.
The General MATS Students' Unity Council made the announcement in a statement on Saturday, addressing diploma doctors, professionals, job seekers, interns, and general students nationwide. "A long march has been scheduled in Shahbagh at 10 AM on Sunday, following the press conference on February 4," the statement read.
The council urged participants to prepare for at least two days and join the march in groups from their respective locations to ensure their demands are met.
The students' four-point demands are as follows:
- Immediate recruitment for vacant 10th-grade positions, along with increased employment opportunities and the creation of new posts at both government and private levels.
- Revision of the course curriculum and renaming of the institution as a medical institute.
- Establishment of an independent "Medical Education Board of Bangladesh" by abolishing the proposed "Allied Health Professional Board."
- Opportunities for higher education in clinical subjects, aligned with international standards and recognized by BM&DC.
