PM Joins High-Level Meeting on Parliament Sound System Replacement
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today attended a high-level meeting on the replacement of the sound system at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS).
The meeting was held at the Cabinet Meeting Room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban this morning, with Acting Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal presiding, according to Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Md Suzauddhowla (Sujon Mahmud).
Sujon Mahmud said a detailed presentation was delivered on a range of advanced sound systems currently in use around the world as part of efforts to modernise the parliament's existing audio infrastructure.
The Public Works Department outlined proposed technological solutions, their technical capabilities and an implementation roadmap for the replacement project, he said.
The presentation highlighted the features, performance and suitability of the modern sound systems for parliamentary proceedings.
Participants also exchanged views on the proposal and offered recommendations and guidance for its implementation.
Among those present at the meeting were Opposition Leader Dr Md Shafiqur Rahman, Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman, ruling party Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, Opposition Chief Whip Md Nahid Islam, and other senior officials.
