Bangladesh Champions have joined Season 3 of the World Championship of Legends
Bangladesh Champions have joined Season 3 of the World Championship of Legends.
The World Championship of Legends (WCL) has confirmed that a Bangladesh Champions team will take part in its third season, expanding the tournament’s lineup.
Bangladesh will join a competition that already features teams from India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, West Indies, and South Africa.
The league has attracted several of cricket’s biggest names, including Yuvraj Singh, AB de Villiers, Brett Lee, Mohammad Hafeez, and Chris Gayle, among other former stars.
Organisers said Bangladesh’s inclusion is expected to further elevate the level of competition in the 2026 edition, bringing more high-profile clashes to the global stage.
Promoted as the world’s second most-watched cricket league, the WCL has rapidly grown by uniting retired greats of the game.
The first two seasons drew massive audiences, with over 325 million viewers for the inaugural edition and 423.1 million for the second, highlighting its expanding global reach.
WCL founder and CEO Harshit Tomar said adding a Bangladesh team comes in response to consistent fan demand over the past two years.
Yunus Hasan, a director of JCUK Sports Ltd representing Bangladesh Champions, described the move as a landmark moment for fans at home and abroad, noting its role in strengthening ties within the cricket community.
Co-owner Ishtiaque Sadeque said, “It’s a great privilege to be part of Bangladesh Champions in the WCL. We believe this tournament will help take Bangladesh cricket to new global heights, as it is regarded as the World Cup of legendary cricketers. We hope to build a strong squad featuring Bangladesh’s cricketing greats.”
Former national captain Mohammad Ashraful and Mahmudullah have already agreed to join the team, while Sadeque added that more prominent names are expected to strengthen the squad.
With Bangladesh’s entry, the league will now feature teams from seven cricketing nations, making the upcoming season its most diverse and competitive yet.
