Sports Lifeblood Of Nation, Not Just Entertainment: Farooq-E-Azam

Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq-e-Azam, Bir Pratik, has said that sports are not merely a form of entertainment but the very lifeblood of a nation.
He highlighted the importance of organizing diverse sporting events with active youth participation to keep them away from drugs, terrorism, and other anti-social activities.
The adviser made the remarks while attending a view-exchange meeting with the Chattogram Metropolitan Sports Association at the Circuit House conference room as the chief guest.
Farooq-e-Azam noted that the Metropolitan Sports Arena is more than just a playground—it is a hub for nurturing the dreams and aspirations of young people.
“Those who participate in sports not only experience victory and defeat but also gain valuable life lessons. Through sports, young people learn patience, compassion, and dedication, which help them succeed in both personal and social life,” he said.
He further stressed the need to guide youths away from mobile addiction, adding that engaging in sports not only strengthens their health but also makes them role models in society.
The adviser underscored the role of sports in ensuring the physical, mental, and social development of children and adolescents, especially from marginalized communities.
He called for stronger collaboration among the government, local administration, and sports organizations to involve more youths in sporting activities.
The meeting was attended by officials from various government departments, representatives of sports organizations, and journalists from both print and electronic media.
