Preparations are underway for a series of large-scale special events to mark Victory Day

Extensive preparations are underway for the grand celebration of Victory Day on December 16, with major special programmes planned across the country.

According to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman, Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Home Ministry Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani, and other high-level officials inspected the arrangements for the Victory Day events on Wednesday.

As part of the day’s commemorations, the Army, Navy, and Air Force will each stage separate fly-past displays over the old Tejgaon Airport beginning at 11:00am. A special Victory Day band performance is also scheduled.

At 11:40am, 54 members of “Team Bangladesh” will perform a flag-bearing parachute jump to commemorate the 54th anniversary of the nation’s independence.
