Additionally, the victim’s sister’s husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law were each placed on a five-day remand. Court and police sources revealed that the delay in presenting the accused was due to ongoing protests throughout the day.
Demonstrators in Magura town demanded the death penalty for those involved, leading to security concerns. The remand hearing commenced after midnight, with the investigating officer seeking a seven-day remand for all accused.
Notably, no lawyer appeared on their behalf during the hearing. When given the chance to defend themselves, the accused pleaded not guilty. After reviewing arguments from both sides, the judge sanctioned a seven-day remand for the main accused and a five-day remand for the other three.
