CA Yunus suggested that the election is expected to take place in late 2025 or early 2026
Dr. Yunus stated that he has consistently urged everyone to conduct the elections only after implementing all the major reforms.

Amid rising anticipation for an election roadmap, Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus announced on Monday that the next national election could take place between late 2025 and the first half of 2026.
"In general terms, the election could be scheduled between the end of 2025 and mid-2026," he stated during a televised address to the nation in the morning.
Dr. Yunus emphasized that he has consistently urged stakeholders to conduct the elections only after completing all major reforms.
"However, if — and I stress if — through political consensus, we agree to proceed with a flawless voter list and minor reforms, it might be possible to hold the election by the end of 2025," he explained.
He further added, "If we incorporate the expected level of reforms in the electoral process, guided by the recommendations of the Election Reforms Commission and aligned with national consensus, it would likely require an additional six months."
