Israel’s military says it is targeting “regime-linked” sites in Tehran
Israel’s military says it is targeting “regime-linked” sites in Tehran.
The Israeli military said it carried out strikes on what it described as “regime targets” in Tehran early Saturday, following multiple rounds of Iranian missile launches toward Israel.
Tehran has faced near-daily bombardment since the war began on February 28 with joint US-Israeli attacks, which reportedly killed senior officials, including the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader.
Iran has responded with missile and drone strikes targeting Israel, US interests in the Gulf, and other locations across the region.
In a brief statement on Saturday, the Israeli military said it was “striking Iranian terror regime targets in Tehran,” after an earlier air raid on the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in Beirut.
No immediate information was available on the impact of the latest strikes.
Earlier, the military said it had detected at least three separate missile launches from Iran toward Israel within a six-hour span.
Air raid sirens were activated across large parts of Israel, according to the Home Front Command, though no casualties were reported.
In a previous statement, the military said recent strikes in Tehran had targeted ballistic missile infrastructure.
“The IDF will continue to intensify the degradation of the Iranian regime’s firepower,” it added.
