BCCCI Submits Six-Point Recommendation To Chinese Embassy In Dhaka
To enhance bilateral cooperation and promote Bangladeshi businesses in China, the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) has submitted a six-point set of recommendations to the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka. Among the proposals is the establishment of “Made in Bangladesh” garment outlets across China.
The recommendations were presented during a courtesy meeting between a BCCCI delegation, led by its President Md Khorshed Alam, and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen on Monday.
Other key proposals include fostering educational and technological collaboration, encouraging greater Chinese private investment in Bangladesh, establishing a Chinese commercial bank in the country, setting up a joint venture factory to produce power-saving permanent magnetic motors—critical for Bangladesh’s power sector—and investing in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
Khorshed Alam said, “The friendship between Bangladesh and China has deepened further. China, as one of Bangladesh’s closest friends, has significantly contributed to various development projects including the Padma Bridge, transport and communication networks, mobile connectivity, and power infrastructure.”
He added, “We hope this cooperation will continue to strengthen. Bangladeshi garments are globally acclaimed for their quality, and many renowned international brands sell our products in China at premium prices. We aim to directly offer world-class ‘Made in Bangladesh’ apparel to Chinese consumers.”
“To achieve this goal, we seek your kind support in setting up 20 ‘Made in Bangladesh’ garment outlet centers in major Chinese cities,” he further stated.
Emphasizing China’s global leadership in technological innovation, the BCCCI president said, “We wish to transfer some of this advanced technology to Bangladeshi students through institutional partnerships.”
