Dhaka Seeks Stronger Trade Ties with Ghana
The Non-Resident High Commissioner of Ghana to Bangladesh, Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh, paid a farewell visit to President Mohammed Shahabuddin at the Bangabhaban, marking the conclusion of his three-year term as high commissioner for Bangladesh, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting held on Tuesday, President Shahabuddin expressed his heartfelt gratitude for Cheremeh’s efforts in fostering strong and amicable relations between Bangladesh and Ghana. He acknowledged the significant progress made in bilateral relations during Cheremeh's tenure and underscored the importance of continued collaboration in shared interests.
In response, Cheremeh thanked the president and the Bangladeshi government for their unwavering support throughout his time in office. The president extended his best wishes for Cheremeh's future endeavors and expressed hope that his successor would build upon the achievements and further enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Cheremeh also met with Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka. During this meeting, he conveyed his deep appreciation for the support and cooperation received from the Bangladeshi government during his tenure.
The adviser praised Cheremeh for his dedicated service and significant contributions to strengthening the ties between Bangladesh and Ghana. He highlighted the potential for deepening the already strong relationship, particularly through increased trade and economic cooperation.
The discussions concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing a commitment to expedite the completion of pending collaborative agreements for mutual benefit. The Honorary Consul of Ghana to Bangladesh, Ebrahim Dawood Mamoon, who was also present, was recognized for his potential role in advancing this agenda.
