Today's Gold Price Update, Gold prices surge again as BAJUS sets new rate at Tk228,556 per bhori
Gold prices have rebounded in the local market after falling in the previous two revisions, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) increasing the price of 22-carat gold by Tk5,482 per bhori (11.664 grams). The new rate has been fixed at Tk228,556 per bhori, including VAT.
In a statement issued on Saturday, 27 June, BAJUS said the revised prices came into effect from 10:00am.
The association said the increase was driven by a rise in the price of pure gold (acid gold) in the local market. Following a review of prevailing market conditions, it decided to revise gold prices.
The updated prices, including VAT, are:
-
22-carat gold: Tk228,556 per bhori
-
21-carat gold: Tk218,291 per bhori
-
18-carat gold: Tk187,440 per bhori
-
Traditional-method gold: Tk153,148 per bhori
The last adjustment was made on 25 June, when BAJUS cut the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,216 per bhori, bringing it down to Tk223,074, including VAT.
With the latest revision, gold prices in Bangladesh have been adjusted 82 times this year. Prices have risen on 41 occasions, fallen 40 times, while VAT has been revised once.
