Today's Gold Price Update: 22-Carat Gold Surges to Tk228,556 per Bhori
Gold prices in Bangladesh rose again on Friday, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) increasing rates for the second time in two days due to a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market.
Under the latest revision, the price of 22-carat gold has increased by Tk4,374 per bhori (11.664 grams), taking the new price to Tk228,556 per bhori, including VAT. The revised rates came into effect at 10:00am on Friday.
In a statement, BAJUS said the latest adjustment was prompted by an increase in the price of pure gold, also known as acid gold, in the domestic market. The association said the new rates were fixed after reviewing the overall market situation.
According to the revised price list, 21-carat gold now costs Tk218,292 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk187,440 per bhori. Gold produced using the traditional method now sells for Tk153,148 per bhori. All prices include VAT.
The latest increase follows another price revision announced by BAJUS on Thursday, when it raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,216 per bhori to Tk224,182, including VAT.
Under Thursday's revision, the price of 21-carat gold was set at Tk214,093 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk183,883 per bhori, and traditional-method gold at Tk150,232 per bhori. Those rates took effect from 10:00am on Thursday.
The back-to-back price hikes highlight the continuing upward trend in Bangladesh's gold market, driven by higher prices of raw gold in the domestic market.
