PM’s adviser: IMF sets no condition for fuel price hikes

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has not imposed any condition on Bangladesh to increase fuel prices, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Information and Broadcasting Dr Zahed Ur Rahman said on Tuesday.

He made the statement while responding to questions from journalists at a press briefing on the progress of various government ministries and current affairs.

The briefing was held around noon at the conference room of the Press Information Department (PID) at the Secretariat.

Asked specifically about the recent fuel price hike, Zahed Ur Rahman said the IMF had not set any such condition requiring Bangladesh to raise fuel prices.
