NBR restricts entry of outsiders into Customs Bond offices
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has instructed all Customs Bond Commissionerates to prevent unauthorised individuals from entering their offices or taking part in official activities, citing concerns over workplace discipline and security.
In a circular issued by the NBR’s Customs Export and Bond Division, the authority expressed concern over reports that outsiders have recently participated in official functions at several Bond Commissionerates without permission.
The NBR said such unauthorised involvement has disrupted office operations and compromised both discipline and security.
It also noted that, despite repeated reminders during revenue review meetings, compliance with access restrictions has remained unsatisfactory.
The circular further mentioned that some recent incidents at various Bond Commissionerates may have involved these unauthorised individuals.
Officials or employees found directly or indirectly associated with outsiders will face disciplinary measures under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.
