UGC calls on university authorities to actively promote Erasmus+ scholarship opportunities
UGC Member Prof. Masuma Habib today urged university authorities to raise awareness of the Erasmus+ Scholarship programme to help more Bangladeshi students benefit from it.
She made the call while speaking at the ‘Erasmus Plus Information Day’ workshop held at the UGC auditorium, which aimed to expand higher education, research, and scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students at European universities.
Prof. Masuma Habib also called on the European Union to further widen higher education opportunities for Bangladeshi students, noting that Bangladesh currently ranks third globally among Erasmus+ scholarship recipients.
Prof. Mohammad Ayub Islam and EU Deputy Head of Delegation Baiba Zariņa attended the event as special guests, while UGC Director Jasmin Parvin presided over the session.
In his remarks, Prof. Ayub sought EU support and training initiatives to help address Bangladesh’s shortage of skilled professionals.
Teachers and students from 60 universities, alongside officials from the UGC and EU, took part in the event.
