Failure to arrest the killers is disgraceful: Hadi’s elder brother
Abu Bakar Siddique, elder brother of Inqilab Moncho convener Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, on Saturday said it was a disgrace for the state that the killers had not been arrested even seven to eight days after the murder.
Speaking briefly ahead of the janaza at Manik Mia Avenue, he told the gathering, “You are here in your lakhs—today, you are all Hadi. He was the youngest of six siblings, and today we are carrying his body.”
Voicing anger over the pace of the investigation, Abu Bakar Siddique said, “Seven or eight days have passed, yet nothing has been done. If the killers escape or manage to cross the border, it will be a matter of deep shame for us.”
He said Hadi always spoke of justice, resistance and building a society grounded in revolutionary ideals. Even at the time of his child’s birth, Hadi had wanted the name to reflect a spirit of resistance. “Today, we cannot even bring ourselves to look at his child,” he said, noting that the baby is only eight months old.
“We have no personal demands,” he added. “Hadi yearned for martyrdom—perhaps Allah has accepted that wish. But I will not let this pass. Justice must be ensured on the soil of Bengal.”
In his closing remarks, Abu Bakar Siddique sought prayers for the family, saying, “Hadi, you have not died. You have left us restless. May Allah accept you.”
