Bangladeshi companies collaborate with US telecom giant Starlink.

Several Bangladeshi firms have partnered with Starlink to facilitate the establishment of ground earth stations in Bangladesh. These firms have signed agreements with the US telecommunications giant while a Starlink delegation is currently visiting the country. The collaboration covers space allocation, construction support, and ongoing infrastructure maintenance.
During the visit, the Starlink team identified potential locations of interest. Some Bangladeshi firms are offering support using their own properties, while in other cases, Starlink is considering using Hi-Tech Park facilities. Discussions regarding site selection and implementation are ongoing, according to Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, special assistant to the chief adviser.
Taiyeb expressed optimism that Starlink would provide reliable, high-speed internet across Bangladesh—including cities, remote areas, northern regions, and coastal zones—without disruptions from load shedding or natural disasters. "This will ensure uninterrupted and high-quality service. Given the limited coverage of telecom-grade fiber networks and ongoing power challenges in remote areas, Starlink will enhance daily activities and accelerate digital economic initiatives for entrepreneurs, freelancers, NGOs, and SMEs," he stated.
He further mentioned, "We aim to establish a practical implementation model with Starlink within the next 90 days."
Meanwhile, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, in a letter to Elon Musk on February 19, invited the SpaceX CEO to visit Bangladesh and officially launch Starlink's satellite service in the country.
The Chief Adviser highlighted that Musk’s visit would give him the opportunity to meet young Bangladeshis who stand to benefit significantly from this advanced technology. Additionally, he has assigned his High Representative, Khalilur Rahman, to closely coordinate with the SpaceX team to ensure Starlink’s readiness for launch in Bangladesh within the next 90 working days.
