Family files case against 46 individuals in Chittagong lawyer's murder
Saiful Islam was tragically killed amid violent clashes at the Chittagong court premises on Tuesday.

The family of Chittagong lawyer Saiful Islam Alif has filed a case against 46 individuals, three days after his tragic murder. Jamal Uddin, Saiful's father, lodged the case at Kotwali police station in the port city on Saturday night, according to Md Abdul Karim, the station's officer-in-charge (OC).
The case document names 31 individuals, while an additional 10-15 remain unidentified. Among the accused are Chandan, Aman Das, Shubho Kanti Das, Bunja, Ranab, Bidhan, Bikash, Ramit, Rumit Das, Nayan Das, Gagan Das, Bishal Das, Omkar Das, Bishal, Rajkapur, Lala, Samir, Sohel Das, Shiv Kumar, Biglal, Parash, Ganesh, Om Das, Poppy, Ajay, Debi Charan, Deb, Joy, Durlav Das, and Rajib Bhattacharya.
Saiful Islam was brutally killed during violent clashes at the Chittagong court premises on Tuesday. The violence erupted following the bail denial of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sommilito Sanatani Jagaran Jote and a former ISKCON leader.
During the unrest, ISKCON supporters allegedly clashed with law enforcement, and Saiful was reportedly abducted and killed. Lawyers have since accused ISKCON followers of responsibility for the incident.
Saiful Islam, a resident of Chunati in Lohagara, joined the district bar association in 2018 and later registered as a High Court lawyer.
