CA launches Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2025
This year's fair features participation from 708 publishing houses.

The month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2025 was inaugurated by the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, on Saturday at 4 PM. This year’s theme is “July Gono Obbhuthyan: Notun Bangladesh Binirman” (The July Uprising: Rebuilding a New Bangladesh).
A total of 708 publishing houses are participating, with 99 stalls set up at the Bangla Academy premises and 609 in Suhrawardy Udyan. Additionally, the fair will feature 37 pavilions—one at Bangla Academy and 36 in Suhrawardy Udyan.
The Little Magazine Corner is located under the trees near the open stage in Suhrawardy Udyan, hosting around 130 little magazines. Meanwhile, the Children’s Corner will see participation from 74 organizations.
The fair will be open daily from 3 PM to 9 PM, and on public holidays from 11 AM to 9 PM. A special Children’s Hour will be held on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 AM to 1 PM, except on February 8 and 15. There will be a one-hour break for lunch and prayers.
On February 21, in observance of International Mother Language Day, the fair will run from 8 AM to 9 PM.
Set against a new political backdrop following the transfer of power on August 5, this year’s fair will feature various portrayals of student and public uprisings. A dedicated July Square has been introduced, where the uprising will be showcased through different mediums.
