The EU is prepared to assist in the reform process in Bangladesh.

The European Union (EU) is prepared to support a reform process in Bangladesh that is peaceful, inclusive, and upholds democratic principles, human rights, and the rule of law, ultimately leading to transparent, inclusive, and credible elections. These remarks were made by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in a recent letter to Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus. The letter, shared by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing yesterday, also highlighted the EU's eagerness to continue its collaboration with Bangladesh.
President von der Leyen expressed her strong commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of EU-Bangladesh cooperation. The EU is ready to establish regular coordination meetings to maintain strategic dialogue, provide timely updates on EU programs, conduct thorough reviews of their support, and address new requests to reinforce shared priorities and strengthen the partnership.
She also expressed her gratitude to Yunus for inviting her to visit Bangladesh.
