Rizvi attributes the rise in crimes to a lax administration
He called on authorities to enforce laws and swiftly punish criminals.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has accused the administration of adopting a slow and indifferent stance, which he claims is encouraging criminal activities.
Speaking at a press conference at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Friday, Rizvi voiced his outrage over the tragic death of the Magura rape victim. He stated that while people had hoped for justice under the interim government, they were instead witnessing increasing lawlessness. "The administration’s inaction and lax approach are emboldening criminals in various ways," he remarked.
Rizvi also criticized the ruling party, arguing that 16 years of misrule had undermined social unity. He accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of employing unethical tactics to retain power.
He urged the interim government to enforce the rule of law immediately and ensure that criminals are held accountable.
"We strongly demand swift and exemplary punishment for the perpetrators of the Magura rape victim’s murder," he added. Rizvi also offered prayers for the victim’s soul and extended his condolences to her family.
Additionally, he announced that BNP has launched a nationwide initiative to document incidents of violence against women and children. The party has also established a support cell to provide legal and medical assistance to victims.
BNP Legal Affairs Secretary Barrister Kaiser Kamal and Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam were also present at the press conference.
