Preparatory meeting for the presidential election to be held today

A preparatory meeting for the upcoming presidential election will be held today at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, with Acting Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal chairing the meeting, according to a press release issued by the Parliament Secretariat.

The Election Commission (EC) announced the presidential election schedule on August 6.

Under the schedule, candidates must submit their nomination papers by August 13. The nominations will be scrutinised on August 16, while the deadline for withdrawing candidatures is 4:00 pm on August 18.

Voting for the presidential election is scheduled to take place from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on August 20 in the Jatiya Sangsad session chamber.
