Precise bowling delivers as Nahid praises true Mirpur pitch

Bangladesh pace sensation Nahid Rana credited relentless spot-bowling practice and a rare sporting surface in Mirpur after finishing as joint Player of the Series with eight wickets.

The express pacer said months of dedicated training had helped him improve his accuracy and consistency.

Speaking to T Sports, Nahid explained that he used his off-time to work extensively on his control.

“I worked very hard in practice. Whenever there were no matches, I trained with local coaches as well as with our national team’s pace bowling coach Shaun Tait,” he said.

“Sometimes I even practised spot bowling on my own. During the off-time I focused on the areas that needed improvement, and now executing those skills has become much easier.”

Nahid also praised the rare grassy surface at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, which he said offered support to both pacers and batters.

“I’m thankful to those who prepared such a true wicket,” he said.

“Playing on wickets like this will help us develop our skills even more. The more we play on such surfaces, the better we will become in world cricket.”

Nahid added that his animated celebrations after taking wickets were simply spontaneous reactions.

“Elation comes naturally after a wicket. It happens in the heat of the moment,” he said.
