Osman Hadi was shot by unknown attackers

Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson for Inqilab Moncho and a candidate in the upcoming national election from the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot by unidentified attackers while campaigning in the Bijoynagar area.

He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Friday afternoon, confirmed Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost. Army personnel have since been deployed around the hospital.

Colleagues accompanying Hadi told reporters that two men on a motorcycle approached during the campaign, shot him in the head, and sped away. They also said he is in urgent need of B-negative blood.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of DMP Motijheel Division Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid said, “We have received reports that Osman Hadi was shot in the Bijoynagar area. We have dispatched a team, and once the facts are verified, we will provide further details.”
