Jamaat representatives meet Election Commission officials

A Jamaat-e-Islami delegation met with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin today as the Election Commission prepares to announce the schedule for the 13th parliamentary election and the national referendum.

The meeting started at 11:30am on Monday at the EC headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka, with all election commissioners in attendance.

The six-member team from Jamaat-e-Islami is led by the party’s Secretary General, Mia Golam Porwar.

Earlier, at around 10:30am, a delegation from the Bangladesh Administration Association also met with the CEC.

Last week, delegations from the BNP and the National Citizens Party (NCP) held similar discussions with the Chief Election Commissioner.
