Final Preparations Underway For February Elections: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said final preparations are underway to hold the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections in the first half of February.
“We are taking all necessary steps to conduct the elections before Ramadan next year,” he told reporters at his office in Nirbachan Bhaban, Agargaon.
Nasir Uddin noted, “Our honorable Chief Adviser is currently in New York. He is assuring everyone he meets that the elections will be held in February. His goal is to transfer power democratically and hold a free, fair, and historic election.”
He added, “We are working to fulfill his vision and make this election truly historic.”
The CEC also sought media support, saying, “We need your cooperation. You should make people understand our sincerity. We follow the law, the constitution, and our conscience. We want to work impartially and uphold transparency. Please convey this message to the people.”
Emphasizing the importance of political parties, he said, “They are our main stakeholders. A fair election is not possible without their cooperation.”
The CEC mentioned that the government is continuing discussions with political parties. “The Consensus Commission has been given another month’s extension, and I hope the parties will reach an understanding,” he added.
