The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka has unveiled a range of streamlined measures to assist Bangladeshi nationals seeking medical treatment in China. In a Sunday statement, the embassy explained that the initiative is designed to implement the public health cooperation agreement reached during Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus’s visit to China in March.

Key elements of the new protocol include simplified documentation procedures, a dedicated "green channel" for urgent cases, and an expedited interview process for medical visas. Under this policy, travel agencies in Bangladesh holding valid business licenses are now authorized to issue guarantee letters for travellers, covering bank deposit certificates and proof of kinship, without requiring authentication by the Bangladeshi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, both the Chinese Embassy and the Visa Application Service Centre have established dedicated support channels, including hotlines (Embassy: 02222260103, 01708464809; Visa Centre: 02226603261) and a WhatsApp service number (01885041364) to address medical visa inquiries. Online applications will be prioritized and promptly reviewed, and a specialized medical visa counter at the Visa Centre enables document submission on arrival without delay.

For urgent medical cases, the "green channel" offers same-day visa issuance. Applicants who secure an appointment benefit from priority, queue-free interviews, while those for whom physical attendance is impractical may arrange remote interviews with a travel agency’s guarantee letter.

The embassy also noted that Chinese diagnostic and treatment centers have significant expertise in managing international patients and extended an invitation to more Bangladeshi citizens to visit China for health check-ups, rehabilitation, and comprehensive medical care.
