Chief Adviser hands over joint declaration on NCD prevention to senior secretaries

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today presented a joint declaration on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) to senior secretaries.

The declaration had earlier been endorsed by senior secretaries and secretaries from 35 ministries.

The handover took place at a programme held at Shapla Hall of the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) in Tejgaon, Dhaka, where Prof Yunus also addressed the gathering.

Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum, Special Assistant to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Professor Dr Md Sayedur Rahman, and Health Services Division Secretary Md Saidur Rahman also spoke at the event.

Advisers, the cabinet secretary, the chief adviser’s principal secretary, senior secretaries, secretaries, high-ranking government officials, and representatives of development partners were in attendance.
