Cardinal Announces Catholic Church in Bangladesh to Hold Interfaith Dialogue This September

The Catholic Church in Bangladesh is set to host an interfaith dialogue this September, Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad announced during a meeting with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, in Rome on Saturday.
Cardinal Koovakad, the Vatican’s Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue and a native of Kerala, India, said the event would gather leaders from a range of religious communities.
During their discussion, Professor Yunus emphasized the importance of fostering ongoing dialogue among people of different faiths in Bangladesh. He reaffirmed the country's strong commitment to religious harmony and highlighted the Interim Government’s initiatives to safeguard the rights of all citizens, regardless of ethnicity, creed, colour, or gender.
Also present at the meeting were Lamiya Morshed, the government's SDG Coordinator; Tareq Ariful Islam, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the Vatican; and Rokebul Haque, Ambassador to Italy.
