The interim government is set to hold discussions with political parties starting at 2:30 PM.

The interim government is set to begin dialogue with various political parties today, following the announcement of six reform commissions. The discussions will start at 2:30 PM at the State Guest House Jamuna, with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) being the first to participate. Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus and other advisers will represent the government in the talks. This marks the third round of dialogue between the interim government and political parties.
The government has already formed five commissions focused on electoral reform, police, judiciary, public administration, and anti-corruption measures. Additionally, a constitutional reform commission is expected to be established soon.
The dialogue will primarily address how political parties can collaborate with the reform commissions, alongside discussions on the country's current situation, including law and order and the upcoming Durga Puja festival. Today’s talks will involve the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and three other political parties, as well as several of their allies.
The BNP delegation, led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and members of the party’s standing committee, will begin at 2:30 PM. Discussions with Jamaat-e-Islami will follow at 3:00 PM, with Ganatantra Mancha at 3:30 PM, the Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) at 4:00 PM, Hefazat-e-Islam at 4:30 PM, and Islami Andolon at 5:00 PM.
Ganatantra Mancha consists of parties like Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), Nagarik Oikya, and others, while LDA includes parties such as the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and various socialist groups. Hefazat-e-Islam, a religious but non-political group, will send a delegation led by Secretary General Maulana Sajidur Rahman.
Notably, Awami League and its allies from the 14-party alliance, who were removed from power in a student-led uprising, have not been invited to participate in the dialogue, nor has the Jatiya Party.
The Chief Adviser is expected to continue discussions next Saturday after Durga Puja, possibly engaging with Gana Odhikar Parishad and the Amar Bangladesh Party (ABP).
