Hamas reports that an Israeli strike in Lebanon has resulted in the death of one of its commanders and members of his family.

Hamas reported that an Israeli airstrike in northern Lebanon killed one of its commanders, Saeed Attallah Ali, along with his wife and two daughters, in the Beddawi refugee camp near Tripoli. This marks the first strike in the region during the current escalation. Hamas has faced multiple Israeli attacks in Lebanon since the conflict with Gaza reignited, with at least 18 militants killed in the country. Earlier, Hamas leaders Fatah Sharif Abu al-Amine and Samer al-Hajj were also killed in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. The camps, created for Palestinian refugees from the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, are under the control of Palestinian factions, with the Lebanese army staying out by tradition.
